Discover Turtledove, a traditional English ballad arranged by Ritz Rakotomalala for mixed-voice choir::
"Turtledove" is an English poetic and musical ballad dating from the 18th century.
It evokes the heart-rending farewell of a gentleman, called to war, forced to leave his beloved to whom he promises his return. He then swears that, no matter how far away they are, his love for her cannot be extinguished, just as the oceans cannot dry up and just as the rocks cannot melt in the sun.
