He won five international prizes for composition. He has been the permanent organist of Saint-Denis Cathedral since 1987. He gave concerts all around the world. He was graduated from the Conservatoire de Paris. He won five first prizes in harmony, counterpoint, fugue, organ and improvisation. He studied Henri Challan, Jean-Claude Raynaud, Marcel Bitsch and Rolande Falcinelli. He taught counterpoint at the Conservatoire de Paris and at the CRD de Saint Maur. He passed away on January 12, 2018. The “Ave Maria” he composed is made of a first part written in a sophisticated counterpoint and a homophonic central part. The climax is followed by a quiet coda with “Amen.”
