Claude Nougaro released the song “Cécile, ma fille” in 1963.
He became father in 1962 and his addressee was his 6-month-old daughter.
He composed the melody a cappella, and then Jacques Datin added arrangement to the song. It was re-released in 1969 and in 1972.
It was covered by many artists, like Michel Fugain (1981), Yves Duteil (1996), Maurane and Bernard Lavilliers in 2010.
Cécile Nougaro became a photographer and a musician. Since 2007, she has been managing Maison Nougaro project, Toulouse.
