César Geoffray - Collection of 24 polyphonies - SATB and women voices, mainly a cappella
This anthology is a selection of the most representative works from a catalogue that includes over five hundred polyphonies, both religious and secular.
Its aim is to raise awareness of the great works by this composer and to enrich the repertoires of top ensembles and major international competitions.
Few French composers feature in the latter... Only Clément Janequin and Francis Poulenc feature prominently. César Geoffray could be right up there with them, especially as these competitions favour a cappella works. This anthology, the selection of which was made in collaboration with Erwin List, could make a contribution.
