The Choralies de Vaison-la-Romaine is a unique triennial event, eagerly awaited by lovers of choral singing: more than 4000 amateur singers take over the town and the region. For nine days thousands of "choralists" from all over the world take part in more than forty workshops under the direction of prestigious conductors.
The pieces from all periods and styles chosen for this Booklet of Common Choral Chant Choralies 2016 meet everyone's expectations: canon, classical, romantic, contemporary, traditional music, song, gospel. The movement is also an integral part of some of the works in this collection.

The Choralies in Vaison-la-Romaine is a festival that takes place every three years. Allpassionates of choral music are waiting for this event where more than 4000 amateur singers invade the City and the Region. During nine days, thousands of participants coming from all over the world take part in more than 40 ateliers under the guidance of prestigious conductors.
Every evening, before the gala concert in the Roman theatre, the open singing takesplace, respecting the tradition. The singers form a giant choir and it is impressive to listen to these thousands of voices singing together in the magical acoustic of the Romantheatre.
The repertoire chosen for this open singing songbook 2016 comes from different stylesand periods and is answer to everyone’s expectation : canon, classical, romantic, contemporary, traditional, songs and gospel… Some of those pieces integrate movementsas well.
No need to speak the same language to understand each other and share a song. Thisbook offers you pieces that are a bridge between cultures, traditions and generations.
