| | | Musical theatre for children, soprano, actor and instrumental ensemble. Libretto: Thomas Gornet, music: Sally Galet Commissioned by the Limoges Opera, SACEM Prize for Musical Education 2017 (category "Creation for young performers"). The project: carried out with four classes over two school years. The libretto: Thomas Gornet wrote the libretto for the show in collaboration with the children and their teacher, based on the different versions of the traditional tale. Thomas Gornet's retelling of the story of Cinderella prompted two parallel journeys. On the one hand, the story of Cinderella told and adapted to today's society makes it possible to draw from the tale elements that make even more than sense today: reconstituted families and social ascension. On the other hand, working with children itself becomes a space for narration: their first steps in the demanding world of performance, the picaresque dimension of their journey towards learning to use their own bodies as instruments, and more generally, the passage from pupil to artist.
