Promenades au pays d'enfance
This sheet music is a collection of five choirs intended to be performed by three equal children voices accompanied on the piano. It is based on texts by Anne Germain, Bernard Lesbats and Maurice Bourdet. It is based on melodies by Claude Germain.
Claude Germain and Anne Germain worked together so many times that their names are difficult to see separately. Their songs are famous, sung and republished. They can more be said as being songs created together than a composition based on their poems. Claude Germain learned how to play the piano and harmony at Ecole Normale of Music in Paris with Jean and Noël Gallons. He was part of the vocal jazz band Les Double Six and Swingle Singers. He received two Grammy Awards in the United States. He and his wife accompanied many artists. He composed and arranged many movie musics and conducted the corresponding orchestras.
He and Michel Magne composed the opening of the TV series “Les Faucheurs De Marguerite, and he was the main arranger of Jacques Martin’s TV show “Thé Dansant.” He founded the vocal band “Les Masques” and was the composer and arranger. They were produced by Francis Lemarque and sponsored by Christiane Legrand, Anne Germain and him realized two albums for the jazz vocal band.
Anne Germain learned how to play the piano and sing with Ninon Vallin. She was part from the vocal band Swingle Singers. She was Catherine Deneuve’s voice in “Les Demoiselles de Rochefort” and “Peau d’Âne” by Jacques Demy. She sang the opening of the TV show “L’île aux enfants.” She had a rich career, and we can only sum up a part of what she really did. She sang with Jean Gabin and Hugues Aufray. She was part of Comédie Française, she sang as a soloist for many things like Jean-Claude Averty’s TV show “Les cinglés du music-hall,” but also for “The Aristocats,” “Pal Joey,” “Cannabis,” “Fiddler on the Roof” for example. She accompanied many singers like Léo Ferré, Gilbert Bécaud, Enrico Macias, Sheila, Sylvie Vartan, Johnny Hallyday, Nana Mouskouri, Michel Sardou, Françoise Hardy and Charles Aznavour.
