This is a song based on a traditional song from the Ossau Valley (South-West). The text of this sheet music is a translation from a traditional song from Pays d’Ossau, “Au berduré jou m’entré.” Jean Poueigh wrote a book entitled “Chansons populaire des Pyrénées françaises” published in 1924; the song is described as a shepherd song.
