This is the second extract from the “Deutsche Messe” (D 872). There are two versions of this German mass. One is for standard mixed choirs and organs and the other is for standard mixed choirs, organs and orchestras or brasses. This last version was published for the first time in 1870. Schubert probably composed this mass in 1827, a year before he died.
