“Hôtel des caravelles” is a song by Julien Clerc. It’s the first single extracted from the album “Fou, peut-être” released in 2011. The song’s beat is a light waltz and it deals with a conniving tender love story taking place during a beautiful spring Sunday.
The mixed-voice version by Antoine Dubois also gives off an enthusiastic feeling. Voices seem conniving as parallels move from one desk to another while musicians are playing calm three-four time. Sopranos sing verses and share choruses’ melody with altos when male voices alternate counter parts and harmonic bass. Every singer has an interesting work to do, following a relaxing and swinging rhythm. This version is really enjoyable to perform.
