This work won the 1st prize in composition competition for Tour’s Florilège Vocal International, 2009. “Counting rhymes and little songs are fascinated to work on. They constitute the basis of our repertoire and the fundamentals of our proper musical education. I chose to work on this counting rhyme in particular because there is a bit of dramaturgy, precised characters, exploitation of onomatopoeias, and also this both funny and cruel side often presented in counting rhymes.” Mathieu Le Nestour was born in 1979. He is a singer, a pianist, a composer and arranger, but he also teaches current music singing and is the assistant manager of “Voix en scène” workshop at Conservatoire de Villebon-sur-Yvette. He accompanies many artists like John Sims, Agnès fait sa b.o, Ronald Becker, Electric band, Les Voisins Du Dessus, Tape m’en cinq, etc. He is part of many young audience shows like “Le Comptinobook” (creation and performance), “Les histoires pressées” (creation and performance), “Aimé et la planète des signes” (musical direction). He mostly writes for choirs and vocal ensembles, and he also creates sonorous illustrations or jingles. He was part of many recordings as an instrumentist or a composer for Naïve Records, Prenez Place, L’air de rien, etc.
