Je me souviens- Direction (version choeur piano et clarinette)

(Code: A121900495)

This is a symphonic choral story based on songs from Quebec. This is a work for standard mixed choirs and instrumental ensembles. Two versions are available: one is for mixed choirs, pianos and clarinets. The second version can only be rented. It is intended for mixed choirs and orchestras (flute, one desk of Bb clarinet, another desk in Bb clarinet and bass clarinet, oboe, F horn, percussion and string instruments).
This sheet music was created by the 400th anniversary of the creation of Quebec by Samuel de Champlain. Norbert Ott wanted to create a work for choirs and orchestras based on French popular songs exported to Canada by the first settlers and that became Canadian French popular songs. He worked with the method of the symphonic poem, that is to say, to write the text first. The lyrics are the story and melodies are musical themes. The “mélodie Ysabeau” is an instrumental variation at the beginning of the first movement and at the end of the third, intertwined with “Voici le temps et la saison.” This sheet music is entitled “Je me souviens” to refer to the motto of Quebec. Extract from Norbert Ott’s introduction.
