The composer explains the choice of the text : “The idea of this work came from my exchanges with the choir conductor Cécile Allemand in Chambly (Quebec, Canada). Among different texts proposed, I have chosen this poem by Octave Crémazie. It depicts in a few words all his love for his country and immediatly temps us to discover it. the result is a short piece, adapted for amateur choirs of regular level and in which I have tempted to respect the simplicity and in the suggestive force of the text.Dominic Faricier
