Le fleuve

Le fleuve

(Code: A112600003)

The theme of the river is one of the first to be dealt with by Max Rouquette: image of life flowing from birth to death, of the succession of generations, image of time and the impermanence of all things, image of a people nurtured by multiple contributions, from its origin to its disappearance, image of the destiny of the whole of humanity, image of History in perpetual change.
Jean GOLGEVIT has tried to be as faithful as possible to the rhythm and the sounds of this language with always the concern which is his that all the voices are singing.
Max ROUQUETTE was born in 1908 in Argilliers, in the Hérault region of France and is considered as one of the greatest writers of Occitan expression and, beyond that, one of the major authors of the 20th century. Translated into several languages, studied in American Universities and nominated several times for the Nobel Prize for Literature, Max Rouquette died on June 24, 2005 in Montpellier.
