Using nativity figures is very usual but they are surprisingly not mentioned in popular Christmas songs. René Sarvil’s childlike verses perfectly match with Hippolyte Ackermans’ funny melody and nativity figures are now famous in a song too. There is also a comic nod to “Marche des Rois” by Georges Bizet. Tino Rossi helped to make it famous.
