Sanctus - Fouillaud

Sanctus - Fouillaud

(Code: A110805096)

Don’t be afraid by the modal writing of this beautiful sheet music. This Sanctus is intended to be part of a Requiem but it hasn’t been composed yet. The modal writing is supposed to create a strong contrast with the other parts of the mass. Patrice Fouillaud was born in 1949 in Limoges. He is a well-known musician. He studied at the Conservatoire de Limoges and at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in which he won the 1st prize in composition in 1981. He became the headmaster of the Conservatoire de Villeneuve-le-Roi. He won the Prix des Jeunes Compositeurs in 1985. His works were mainly published by the Éditions Durand. He wrote them with 2e2m, Ars Nova, and the Nouvel Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France, but also in festivals in France and abroad. Today, he thinks that he will finally not include the Sanctus in his Requiem because it is quite a unique piece of music and it can be played alone easily.
