| | This work was commissionned by À Coeur Joie for the 70th anniversary of the creation of this non-profit organization. Both the title and the poetic text of the song refer to “Une petite joie” (A spark of joy). To sing this song is a guaranteed moment of happiness. We wish to thank greatly Manuel Coley who composed this fresh and lively song for this occasion!

| | Splendid poetic text for high quality musicthat contains some obvious difficulties that makes this work for ensembles with great choral experiences.

| | It is a motet of the “Passion” season and we understand why the melody is made of bass notes and why there is no amazing writing style. The ease-of-writing serves the meaning of the text which enhances some chromaticism (2nd voice: bar 4 & 5, 1st voice: E flat bar 16; 3rd voice: bar 21) and highlight the third voice compared to the two first on the word Dolores. Antonio Lotti studied in Venice where he lived and during his career he worked as a singer, organist and composed for the Saint Mark’s Basilica. In addition of his significant production of sacred music, Lotti is renowned in the opera sector or secular cantata.
