He married Elsa Triolet in 1939, and she became his muse. “Heureux celui qui meurt d’aimer” is one of the ten songs Jean Ferrat composed with Louis Aragon's text.

| | |  This is a Christmas carol from the 18th century which can be sung by 3 mixed voices, tenor part is ad libitum. In spite of having changed, this melody is still really closed to Saboly’s Christmas “Per noun langui, long dou camin” (ref. ACJ 440) harmonized by Joseph Hetsch.
