| | Mass in Wolof - Senegal - SATB a cappella |
| | | This mass was composed before 1580 and is one of the 60 authentic Orlande de Lassus’s mass. Some of them are developed, but most of them are short masses parodying songs simply written in a syllabic style. Lords were known to better like short services. They were used to go to Mass before hunting. Lassus’ masses were part of European Churchs’s repertoires for centuries, and they were republished until the 18th century. This mass is written for standard mixed choirs. It is short and easy and only have a few words being repeated. It was a parody of “Pilons l’orge” (ref. ACJ 6002) by Claudin de Sermisy. It is short and lively and has the same contrapuntal structure. |
