This is a reproduction of “Vents hardis et legers.” There is only a late printed version published in 1552. It may have been written by Clément Janequin when he last traveled to Paris or when he was working for the Duke of Guise. The extended metaphor mixes a bawdy aspect with love and hunt. The imitation of the horn is similar to other hunting musics. The composer enjoys writing songs about the daily sonorous environment of the noble audience. When they were not at war, they were only allowed to hunt. The energetic pulse shows the desire for love. The instrumental onomatopoeias are sung by the several parts and the song ends with it as an echo on the last notes. This is a song which has to be funny and emotionally charged.
