| | | This text is one of the most moving one of the liturgy songs. Estêvão Lopes Morago composed a song for a standard mixed choir in A/E mode just like Tomás Luis de Victoria and Alonso Lobo did. It is a sad but flowing polyphony. There is no difficulty to sing it. You need to sing with discretion and humility. Estêvão Lopes Morago was born around 1580. He studied in Évora and was a Kapellmeister and a canon in Viseu Cathedral. Unfortunately, a major part of his work disappeared with the 1755 Lisbon earthquake.

| | | Jacques Guyader listened to different versions of this Easter mass section. He also sang them. And then, he decided to compose a new one. He said that his first idea was to write a text with this quiet Gregorian melody. He also thought about the characters and included them into the song by dividing the song between the four voices.
