Céline Castaño was born in 1977. She loves to sing since she was a little girl, and she became part of Mikrokosmos and supported Loïc Pierre in conducting. She is a children choirmaster and holds a state-registered diploma in vocal ensemble conducting since 1999. She teaches choir singing (CNR, CFMI, Universities, Conservatories in Tours and Poitiers) and is a soloist in baroque and opera formations. She has a curiosity for traditional music of African culture and sings with Tambours de Brazza. She is also the singer-songwriter of her first album “Agitation” released in 2007. She is a teacher in Cognac and arranges songs for youth choirs. She regularly composes orders for choir creations. “This short piece for unaccompanied female choirs enhances Amina Saïd’s poem I love to pronounce, to whisper, to cry and to sing. I let the melody appear, and it was like it was there for a long time. All I had to do was to find the harmonic balance of female voices to highlight the inner part of this short, deep and radiant text.”
