Flor Peeters was born on July 4, 1903, in Tielen, Belgium. He studied at the Lemmensinstituut. He quickly became a renowned organ teacher. He taught at the Conservatoire Royal of Gand, at Roomskatholieke Leerlangen in Tilburg and at the Koninklijk Vlaams Conservatorium that he supervised from 1952 to 1968. Since 1958 he has taught how to play the organ in Boys Town, Nebraska. He also taught from 1968 to 1985 in St. Rumbold’s Cathedral. He composed many classical, polyrhythmic and polytonal works. After 1966 he mostly composed atonal and serial works.
