In 1857, at the age of 19, Georges Bizet won with his cantata Clovis and Clotilde the Prix de Rome for musical composition, a prestigious springboard at the time for a career as a composer, the reward for which was a three-year stay at the Villa Medicis.
It was during this stay in Italy in 1858 that he wrote the Te Deum, for soprano, tenor, mixed choir and orchestra, one of his rare religious works.
For this Chorus Piano version, the piano reduction is made by Ion CRIVEANU.

Alexandre-César-Léopold Bizet, better known as Georges Bizet, is a French composer born in 1838 in Paris and died in 1875.
He is one of the composers of the Romantic period. He composed Carmen, one of the best known and most performed operas in the world. He is best known for his operas and orchestral suites, created over a short period of time, as he died prematurely at the age of 36.
Georges Bizet left about 120 musical works. For posterity, his name remains associated with the opera Carmen, one of the pillars of the French operatic repertoire; and with the orchestral suite L'Arlésienne, known for the theme of La Marche des rois and Li chevau frus, a Provençal song from the Middle Ages.
