Une vie chorale by Jean Paul Baget :

Searching for one's place in the world and the meaning of one's life sometimes starts with a runaway at age 3. Starting out on his red tricycle, Jean-Paul Baget always took the side roads, marked out by a multitude of encounters that guided him in his self-taught approach.
On his path, the Abbé Pierre, Joseph Wresinski, musicians and artists, women and men in search of meaning. These encounters led him to create, among others, the ATD Fourth World Singing Workshop.
The choir director he became was open to all, without elitism, without concessions either: amateurs, professionals, the poorest or the most fragile, everyone has the right to the beauty and the demands of music. His own flaws have made him attentive to the uniqueness of each person.
He presents here the "toolbox" that he has developed step by step, along with his experiences. He shares his choices and reflections on musical work, group leadership, pedagogy, and the choir as a school of life, an artistic, human and spiritual adventure.

The Author

:

After his meeting with Maurice Martenot, who opened him to the "active methods" of musical pedagogy, with Eva Kollar and many others, Jean-Paul Baget became a choir director. He coordinated the operation "100 000 Voix pour les Sans Voix" in 1987. In 2007, he shared his experience at the Choralies de Vaison-la-Romaine with his fellow choirmasters. As a researcher, he makes links between the body, voice, dance, clown and choir. As a clown, he created the show 180°. For over twenty years he has been training choral conductors in his approach through courses and individual coaching. Two films " Quand des voix se rencontrent et s'accord " (When voices meet and agree) testify to his work with ATD Fourth World.
