This is an African traditional song with a very simple arrangement which can be performed by every choir, no matter their experience or the occasion.
Vic Nees was born in 1936 in Mechelen, Belgium. He is a Flemish composer known internationally. He studied music at Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp, and he received 1st prizes in arrangement, counterpoint, and fugue. He became a program director for choral music for Flemish Radio and Brussels television. He conducted the Choeur de la Radio and created many works. He composed for instrumental ensembles and choirs. He composed Latin, Flemish, French works (like 4 Flanders songs for mixed voices and 3 Dutch songs for male voices), as well as his famous "Magnificat” (1981) for a soprano soloist and mixed choir. He is often asked for being a clinician for choral singing and composition contests.
