Crux fidelis - Quesnel

“Crux fidelis” was ordered by the Maîtrise de la Perverie. It was created into Nantes Cathedral during the Holy Week in 2006.
It is intended to be performed by tenor soloists and mixed choirs accompanied by drums and ad libitum organs. Every stanza of the hymn was set to music for the veneration of the Cross. Each one of the first four verses is performed by a voice (bass, tenor, altos and sopranos). The desks are placed at the points of the compass in the church. The tenor soloist is in the middle. From the 8th verse to the end, four mixed voice are singing. This is this last section. Choirs enjoy the harmonic richness and the beautiful melodic line.
