La tulipe ou la rose

The composer Alexander Rydin said:
"As soon as I discovered Omar KHAYAM's beautiful and joyful poems, I did not hesitate for a moment to compose a piece for choir on the tasty quatrains of this poet who lived around 1050 in the Middle East.
Everything is joyful in these pages! The metaphor is suggestive, the flower, the tulip or the rose, Khayam evokes with greed, "the glass of wine, the pretty girl as a tulip, the sighs of the morning. ".
This piece is globally tonal, composed in a lively tempo with simple rhythms and easy access for an amateur choir.
