Composition for SATB a cappella choir by Claude Vercher, liturgical text.

This work can be performed as a triptych together with the following works by the same composer:

The Angelus is an old prayer of the 9th century that was first said in the evening, then also in the morning and at noon in order to give rhythm to the daily schedule in monasteries and parishes. It was created alternating Ave Maria with some verses from Gospel of Luke. In this work the composer only used the first words of "Ave Maria” between the verses. The first two verses set a dialog between female voices and male voices, then the choir sings together "Et Verbum caro factum est” (The Word was made flesh). The final "Alleluia-Amen” leads to a quiet night atmosphere.
