This motet is a hymn to the Virgin Mary based on the text attributed to Adhemar of Le Puy. It is divided into two sections. The first one is humans’ lamentation while suffering. The second part is an intercession which ends with a verse of worship. The harmony is modern but without any difficulty, there are also sections intended to be performed by three female voices and other sections are intended to be performed by one or two male voices. The conclusion is quiet and peaceful. This sheetmusic can be a part of a trilogy composed of “Veni creator spiritus” (ref. ACJ 5038) and “Angelus domini” (ref. ACJ 5056).
