This composition was originally written as a Lied for solo voice and piano. Denis Rouger has delicately adapted it to the needs and expressive possibilities of a larger ensemble, without denying the qualities of the original. Each voice in the choir is assigned its own melodic line, extracted from the harmonic and rhythmic structure. In this way, the diversity and refinement of choral expression are combined with the enormous flexibility of realization and expression demanded of a soloist and piano part in French mélodies or German Lied. This Lied was recorded on the CD "Kennst du das Land ..." by Figure Humaine chamber choir conducted by Denis Rouger.
