This medieval ballad is sung in the movie "The Devil’s Envoys” realized by Marcel Carné, written by Jacques Prévert and Pierre Laroche and musically composed by Maurice Thiriet. It was written in 1942 and is still fixed in popular memories. Jacques Douai and Cora Vaucaire sang it, but this is the latter that has got it known.
