- J'irai revoir ma Normandie
- La Paimpolaise
These two traditional songs are intended for unaccompanied 4-parts mixed voices choirs. They are extremely famous for French people, and are engraved in Bretons and French memories.
“J’irai revoir ma Normandie” was written by Frédéric Bérat (1801-1855) in 1836. It became the unofficial hymn of French regions.
“La Paimpolaise” was written by the chansonnier and folklorist Théodore Botrel (1866-1925) and composed by Eugène Feautrier. It depicts long cod fisheries and hard times during which sailmen couldn’t see their beloved one.
