This is a famous traditional Chinese song which translation is “jasmine flowers.” Each Chinese province has its own version. Giacomo Puccini used the melody in opera “Turandot” for the scene of Turandot’s splendor. It was performed to the 2008 Summer Olympics opening ceremony. The composer Hyo Won Woo arranged it. She works with the professional Korean Incheon City Chorale, conducted by Dr Hak Won Yoon. Melody is sung by a soloist soprano or by a small singer group, and the choir supports them with onomatopoeia. This piece has particular beauty, refined harmony and accessible writing.
