"Non merci !" a superb text by Edmond Rostand harmonised by Claire Vazart for equal voices choir and piano:
Non, merci ! was commissioned by the ACSAG (Association des Chorales Scolaires de l'Académie de Grenoble) who wished to enrich their vocal repertoire for equal voices with works of French literature from the public domain.
It was created in April 2011 during the Festival Vacarme de Printemps, the branch of the Festival des Nuits d'Été de l'avant-pays savoyard, dedicated to works for young people.
It is a piece for two voices with piano accompaniment, jazzy and cheerful in character, which defends the values of free will and freedom through Rostand's famous text.
