Poets and musicians worked together explicitly since 1570. They created the Académie de Poésie et de Musique which was supervised by the poet Jean-Antoine de Baïf and the musician Joachim Thibault de Courville. Claude le Jeune was the last composer to adapt the rhythm of French verses to Greek and Latin verses. He also added his last researches about chromaticism. “Qu’est devenu ce bel oeil” is this kind of song written with traditional standards.
