Léo Delibes (1836 - 1891) is mainly known for his lyric operas (Lakmé) and ballets (Coppélia). He has thought written a few intimist sacred pieces for women voices. Never published before, Sancta Maria is in the same ideas but for 4 mixed voices. This rare manuscript, kept at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris, bears the achievement date of the composition : 5th of february 1888. Let’s discover this wonderful music.
