This is a traditional salt farmers’ round dance from Guérande, Brittany, in which dancers are also singers. In this equal voice version, the three desks perform the melody with some melodic variations and they are singing leaders one at a time. This version is the one usually played. There are several versions of melody and text, as it is often the case for traditional songs. You should be careful to respect dynamics and tempo to keep the dancing spirit.
