Ave Maria - Pincemaille - SATB
Pierre Pincemaille was one of the greatest French organists.
He won five international prizes for composition. He has been the permanent organist of Saint-Denis Cathedral since 1987. He gave concerts all around the world. He was graduated from the Conservatoire de Paris. He won five first prizes in harmony, counterpoint, fugue, organ and improvisation. He studied Henri Challan, Jean-Claude Raynaud, Marcel Bitsch and Rolande Falcinelli. He taught counterpoint at the Conservatoire de Paris and at the CRD de Saint Maur. He passed away on January 12, 2018. The “Ave Maria” he composed is made of a first part written in a sophisticated counterpoint and a homophonic central part. The climax is followed by a quiet coda with “Amen.”
It’s a beautiful sheet music to discover.

Ave Maria - Plénat - SATB
This “Ave Maria” was composed by Dominique Plénat for his daughter’s wedding. This was a touching and original present. It is also unusual because a choir can learn this song in a 30-minute rehearsal. This express-choir-song concept is very interesting and can be explored. This is an Anglo-Saxon-spirit song in collaboration with the Centre de Documentation pour l’Art Choral — Liaisons Arts Bourgogne.
