For SATB choir - 4 mixed voices, music by Roger Calmel (1920-1998), text by Charles Péguy (1873 - 1914)
Roger Calmel always chose his texts wisely; all those that inspired his music are of the highest quality (Eluard for the Cantate Liberté, Daudet for musical tales for children, Jean-François Deniau for Le secret du roi des serpents, Didier Rimaud for numerous works (equal voices and mixed voices), Péguy, Rimbaud, Charles d'Orléans, La Fontaine... ) He sometimes used poems that were esoteric and difficult to interpret, which is an exceptional asset.
Published also in the songbook Roger Calmel - 14 polyphonies a cappella or with piano.
Performance circa 3'30
