Polyphonies du Cameroun vol. 2

Since 2013, the association Amis du Choeur Madrigal du Cameroun (Friends of the Madrigal Choir of Cameroon) has been committed to training and introducing young people to the richness of choral singing, a living melting pot of our musical heritage.

This second booklet in the "Polyphonies du Cameroun” collection continues this adventure. The result of the second collection campaign carried out in 2024 in the Adamaoua and East regions, it gives voice to the memory of the peoples, from whispered prayers to rhythmic dances.

Thanks to the original arrangements by Jean Alexis Bakond, William Wonda, and Frédéric Mbida, these traditional songs, drawn from the oral tradition, are brought back to life and offered to choirs here and elsewhere.

This collection is a tool for preserving and disseminating Cameroon's musical heritage. It is a bridge between heritage and creation, an invitation to bring together the many voices of Cameroon.
