In this choral suite, Olivier Bilquin has grouped together, in four thematic movements, excerpts from 23 songs chosen from among Charles Aznavour's greatest hits, thus providing an overview of his formidable musical career.
The suite is arranged for 4 mixed voices (SATB) with piano accompaniment.
As in his other arrangements, Olivier Bilquin attaches great importance to making the main melody travel from one voice to the other, thus giving each lectern the opportunity to alternate between rhythmic and melodic motifs.
This suite, which lasts approximately 50 minutes, can be a first or second part of a concert.

About d’Olivier Bilquin :

After studying piano in the classes of Béatrice Herman at the Conservatoire de Namur, then Etienne Rappe at the Conservatoire Royal de Musique de Liège, Olivier Bilquin began his professional career as a composer in 2001, in the field of stage music.
As a composer of film soundtracks, he composed for Benoît Mariage, among others, the soundtrack for his film L'autre, (which earned him a nomination for the Joseph Plateau Prize for best Belgian composer), as well as the choral arrangement of the final scene, by Cowboy.
He is also very much involved in choral singing, whether it be through conducting (Les chœurs Maranatha or Terra Nova) and especially the numerous arrangements in the French pop-rock-chanson repertoire.
